ALL THE ANSWERS

DO WE HAVE TO STAY AT THE RESORT FOR THE WEDDING?

We would love for everyone to stay at the resort since we have a room block contract with the hotel. We have to meet a minimum number of rooms booked, so staying at the resort would really help us out!

That being said, we completely understand if you prefer to stay elsewhere. Just a heads-up — the resort charges a fee of $280 per person for guests not staying on-site. This fee allows access to the property about one hour before the ceremony and includes staying until the end of the reception.

If this is something you're considering, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at kendallandfabianwedding@gmail.com — we’d be happy to help figure out the details! 💕

IS THERE MORE INFORMATION ON THE ROOM BLOCK?

Yes, please visit our room block website for reservations FAQs

WILL THE CEREMONY BE OUTSIDE?

Yes! But don’t worry—we won’t be on the sand. We’ve chosen January for the perfect Cancun weather—warm, but not too hot! ☀️🌴

CAN I DRINK THE WATER?

Hotel Xcaret is a luxury resort that prioritizes guest health and safety, including water quality. The resort uses a high-standard filtration system, making tap water generally safe for drinking. However, if you are traveling from outside of Mexico and have a sensitive stomach, it's always best to take precautions.

Tips:

Prefer bottled or filtered water when drinking.
Ice at the resort is typically made from purified water, but if dining outside the hotel, confirm with the restaurant.
Be cautious with fruits and vegetables from street vendors or places you’re unsure of, as they may be rinsed with tap water.
To be extra safe, consider brushing your teeth with bottled water.

CAN I TAKE PHOTOS DURING THE CEREMONY?

We kindly ask that all phones, iPads, cameras, etc. are put away for the duration of the ceremony. After the couple has shared their first kiss as husband and wife, there will be a photo moment where you may take out your devices and snap a photo before the couple walks back down the aisle

CAN WE BRING CHILDREN?

Yes, bring the little ones!

Kids 5 and under stay free when sharing a room with one paying adult.
Children 6–17 have a special rate

We can't wait to celebrate with the whole family! 🎉✨

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

We’re getting married on January 31, and the weather in Playa del Carmen during this time is typically beautiful! 🌤️

Average daytime temperatures: 75–85°F (24–29°C)
Evening temperatures: 65–75°F (18–24°C)
Humidity: Comfortable with a light breeze
Rain chances: Low, but a passing shower is always possible and finish quick!

It should be warm but not too hot—perfect for a beachside celebration!

Google Translate App

Before leaving the U.S. take a few moments to download the Google translate app. Avery's favorite travel tip is to use the camera feature within the app to translate menus and important signs on the spot!

CURRENCY EXCHANGE

When leaving for Mexico or arriving at the airport, I recommend exchanging $50-$100 per day that you will be in Mexico depending on how much shopping you plan to do. The majority of vendors will take debit and credit cards, but you will need pesos for tips, cabs, and any street vendor shopping.

*Currency exchange is available at the airport, however you will not get the best rate available.

STREET FOOD

If you decide to stay at Hotel Xcaret, you’re in for a treat—it’s all-inclusive, so you’ll have access to incredible dining options without worrying about extra costs.

If you prefer to explore Playa del Carmen, 5th Avenue (5ta Avenida) is a fantastic spot filled with great restaurants, bars, and street food.

Street Food Safety Tips:
Trying local food is part of the adventure, but a little caution goes a long way!

Choose vendors with good hygiene – If it’s not made fresh in front of you, it’s best to skip it.
Opt for hot, cooked foods – Heat kills bacteria!
Avoid raw items – Especially seafood and salads that may have been washed in tap water.
Be cautious with fresh juices – They may be made with unfiltered water.
Drink bottled water – Stay hydrated safely.
Use hand sanitizer – Always a good idea before eating.
Ask the locals – They know the best (and safest) spots!
Enjoy the flavors of Mexico while keeping your stomach happy! 🌮✨
